Considering a facelift but not quite ready for surgery? There's a fantastic nonsurgical option: the BussoLyft. Developed by Dr. Mariano Busso, this innovative technique uses PDO threads to lift and reposition facial structures, delivering a rejuvenated appearance without the need for invasive surgery.

What is a PDO thread?

So, what exactly are PDO threads? They're absorbable sutures made of polydioxanone, commonly used in aesthetic medicine to lift and tighten sagging skin. These threads stimulate collagen production, enhancing skin elasticity and firmness. They're versatile too, able to target various areas of the face and body, offering a minimally invasive option for rejuvenation.

Consultation:

Before diving into the procedure, a consultation is key. At Dr. Busso's practice in Miami and Beverly Hills, we work with you to identify your areas of concern and tailor a plan to address them. While the complete BussoLyft focuses on the cheeks, jowls, and neck, we can customize treatments to suit your specific needs, whether that means targeting one area or combining multiple areas.

Preparation:

Once we've established a plan, preparation begins. We'll clean the treatment area thoroughly to ensure sterility, removing any dirt, makeup, or oils. Next, we'll administer local anesthesia to ensure your comfort during the procedure. Our team also utilizes vibration techniques to enhance comfort while the local anesthesia is being administered.

Procedure:

Once the patient is prepped, we move swiftly to the procedure. Using a cannula, the threads are inserted into the skin. At Dr. Busso's practice, the number of threads needed depends on the desired effect, so we use as many as necessary. You may experience a slight pulling sensation during the procedure, but rest assured, there's no pain thanks to the anesthesia. Depending on the number of areas treated, the procedure can take as little as 10 minutes or up to 30 minutes.

Post-Procedure:

After the procedure, results can be seen immediately, although expect minimal swelling in the treated areas. The extent of swelling may increase with the number of areas treated, but it's typically not severe. Bruising is possible but less common. You'll have small entry points from the where the threads were inserted, covered with bandaids for two days before they can be removed. Some tightness and discomfort is also expected, but this can be alleviated with ibuprofen as needed. We do not enforce any restrictions immediately post-treatment; however we do believe it is important to listen to your body. If certain gestures cause discomfort, avoid it.
