KYBELLA is an injectable treatment that improves the profile and appearance of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also called "double chin." Dr. Busso was invited to be among the first physicians in the United States to introduce the new KYBELLA in July 2015. With KYBELLA, fat cells are killed and eliminated by the body, while surrounding tissues are unaffected.
How Does KYBELLA Work?
One to five treatment sessions may be required. Each treatment requires 1 – 2 vials of KYBELLA. Dr. Busso will customize the treatment regimens, including the number of treatments needed, based on the desired results. Dr. Busso will administer a series of injections spaced one month or more apart. Many patients see visible contouring after two treatments.

Does KYBELLA tighten loose neck skin?
KYBELLA injections primarily target and dissolve submental fat (double chin), but they're not specifically designed to tighten loose neck skin. However, some patients may experience mild skin tightening as a secondary effect due to the reduction in fat volume. For significant skin tightening, additional treatments for nonsurgical skin tightening be recommended in combination with KYBELLA injections.
Are KYBELLA results permanent?
KYBELLA results are generally considered permanent, because the treatment destroys fat cells in the treated area. Once these fat cells are eliminated, they cannot regenerate. However, maintaining a stable weight and healthy lifestyle habits are important to prevent new fat accumulation and preserve the aesthetic outcomes achieved with KYBELLA.
