Minor Patient Privacy Notice
Under Florida law, parents and legal guardians generally have access to a minor’s medical records. However, certain records may receive additional confidentiality protections under state and federal law, including:
- Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment records
- Mental or behavioral health services
- STI/STD testing or treatment
- Reproductive health information
- Abuse or patient safety matters
Certain SUD records may also be protected under federal confidentiality regulations, including 42 CFR Part 2.

- Maintains safeguards for electronic and paper records
- Trains staff on HIPAA and privacy requirements
